Mid-Staffs report raises worrying questions on public/patient involvement

A quick reaction to Robert Francis' latest Report. He wants a stronger voice for patients and the public and has 290 recommendations. But it raises a concern. The NHS is rightly spending on consulting the public about major service changes but maybe we should be placing more emphasis on listening to their views on day-to-day, week-by-week performance ... Will the reorganised NHS in England, and the new Healthwatch bodies be up to the task?
