The Next Pope Of The Roman Catholic Church

The resignation of Pope Benedict this week caught both those inside and outside the Roman Catholic Church totally by surprise.

The Pontiff has said that he will now totally withdraw from public life to ensure the new Pope which will be elected next month is not impeded.

Our reporter David Rhodes has this week been gauging the local reaction to the resignation of Pope Benedict.

And the Bishop of Middlesbrough Terry Drainey told him that the Roman Catholic Church will soon return to a sense of normality.
