Eight years of Niteflirt

It really has something to do with boredom and desperation. You'd have to listen to the analogy Leonard Shlain made in the interview linked below to understand this, but in a manner of speaking it's about having too much of a one-sided perspective of time. In a metaphorical sense time is as much an arrow as it is a circle. The problem with #niteflirt is that it's only interesting to me when I have too much of an arrow perspective and too little of a circle perspective (no bad Freudian pun intended).

I'm a strong supporter of the sex-positive movement, but for too long I was thinking of any reservations I had about #phonesex as just not being sex positive enough. But it's really not that, it's really almost about death. It's about thinking about death and trying to do something crazy and fun to say I am enjoying life. Which, I should say, is completely viable perspective, but short-term (arrow) and long-term (circle) need to be thought about simultaneously, and that's what this was missing.

I'm guessing I only really care now, because this maybe the first time in about six years that I haven't wanted to die. Which is a longer story about confronting shame...
