Maybe you can hear Ed is trying to specify or send something to someone.
Why dogs send on his transmission? Can they work with him? - negative.
After a while Ed has started to pick-up about 1 kHz above his tx frequency; then, soon the dog-pile naturally settled and everyone could work smoothly.
DX stations, if you encounter similar situaton, please specify "UP 1" or so, if you need to command and control the pile up.
