The Largest Gay Community Outside of London

The North East has an image of being a traditional hardworking region, its not renowned for its Gay Culture like places such as Manchester or Brighton.

But according to the Office for National Statistics the North East has the highest percentage of people who say their gay, lesbian or bisexual outside of London.

So are we as a region that open about our sexuality and are the stereotypes wrong?
