They then consider the factors that have shaped and influenced their thinking and practice over the years. This is part one of three short segments of an interview with Ralph Leighton who is a teacher educator who has been involved in the development of citizenship as a subject. Raised in Glasgow in a Jewish working class community, he studied whilst working and eventually qualified as a social worker and worked in the East End of London before becoming a teacher amongst the Sikh community in Gravesend.
