George kindly came forward to tell me about his memories of 1940’s Be-bop dancehall Boscombe Palais for the Untold Boscombe project.
George explains how the Palais had an iffy (if largely unwarranted) reputation, how jiveing was frowned upon and how the Palais was one of the places that you wouldn't get chucked out for not being ‘strictly ballroom’.
