BBC Breakfast Wrong Switch

Viewers watching BBC One's Breakfast programme today (Saturday Jan 4) - at least via the BBC News Channel - were treated to an unscheduled audio guest appearance by Declan Curry at around 09:47am. Breakfast presenter Simon McCoy in Salford was interviewing two former soldiers in Argentina about tomorrow's start of the Dakar Rally (now held in South America) when the entire audio feed went silent. A number of seconds later viewers heard the voice of business presenter Declan Curry talking to a colleague in the London BBC News Channel HQ ahead of his 10:30am Your Money show. There are periods of silence within this audio out-take before the feed returns to BBC Breakfast. And at one stage the TV picture focused on an empty chair in the BBC News Channel studio before switching back to the BBC1 Breakfast programme.
