Supporting South Sudan with Art, Music and Drama
Interview with Dr. Justin John Billy (33) who is Dean of the College of Art, Music and Drama, University of Juba in South Sudan. Justin Billy is visiting his birthplace Khartoum for a few days. He gave this interview at Ahfad University for Women where he's meeting up with friends and former students during a cultural event. Justin Billy did his PhD at Sudan University of Science and Technology, in choreography and theatre directing. He talks about a weekly activity in Juba where he and artists entertain and collect food, clothes and other items for people in South Sudan who are affected by armed conflict and displacement. He describes his work at the University of Juba and shares his hope for more international cooperation to continue building the study programme in art, music and drama.
