(Background Music) Timi: My name is Timi and I’m 12 and I’m in Navan Educate Together National School. Question: What rights did you know about and what rights are important to you? Timi: Well I knew about a couple of rights. Right to clean water and food and right to be protected from war and the most important is clean water and food. Question: Do you think that there are people out there that are affected by not having this right?

Timi: Yeah, especially in some countries, undeveloped countries around the world that don’t have these basic necessities. Question: Are there any other rights that you think are important to children? Timi: I think the right to know your human rights are very important because human rights were made for a reason, to protect us children from war and stuff that’s happening now. Water and food are things that you’re supposed to have. The right to know your human rights is a thing that you’re supposed to have. Question: What do you think children need? Timi: Education because education gets you a good way in life. Education is not only something that you need to know, it’s something that you have to know because education can get you, like, to where Obama is nowadays and Bill Gates and all these famous people. Question: And with your education where do you hope you will be? Timi: Well I hope I’ll will be one of the first black presidents of Ireland.

Question: And if you were president of Ireland what would you like to see happen? Timi: Well I would like to see happen, the Gaelic games become a professional sport and I would like to spread the word of human rights to different countries. (Background Music)
