May 20, 2014, 06:10 AM

On this episode of the The Cycling Podcast, Richard Moore and Lionel Birnie are joined by ITV's cycling reporter Ned Boulting, author of several books and recent host of the station's coverage of the Women's Tour.

With Daniel Friebe away in the Pyrenees at the Française des Jeux team's pre-Tour de France training camp, Richard, Lionel and Ned discuss the latest cycling action.

They talk about Bradley Wiggins's victory at the Tour of Californa, weigh up the opposition he faced there and ask whether this guarantees him a place in Sky's Tour de France team.

They also assess the opening week's racing at the Giro d'Italia before turning attention to the successful debut edition of the Women's Tour, which was won by Marianne Vos.
