The #OnThisDay take on the anniversary of the start of the #BattleofMarstonMoor near #York on this day in #1644. Cavalier leader Prince Rupert squandered a chance to make a surprise attack on Cromwell's Parliamentary forces earlier in the day and was forced to go on the defensive at around 7.30pm, around the time he was having supper! #Cromwell led his forces to victory against the Royalist cavaliers under #PrinceRupert.
