The #OnThisDay take on the anniversary of Swedish inventor Alfred #Nobel demonstrating his new #Dynamite explosive at a quarry in #Redhill, Surrey on this day in 1867. The Swedish chemist, engineer and armaments manufacturer went on to hold around three hundred and fifty patents and his fortune was later used posthumously to create the Nobel Prize.
