Week 8 Boo: Self Reflection

Jul 26, 2014, 08:00 PM

On our first day of class, I welcomed you and I referred to our class as a journey of learning. Well now, 7 weeks later, we’ve arrived at our destination, the end of our course. Whenever we end something or arrive somewhere, it’s always nice to look back at how far we’ve come. So that’s what I’d like you to do now.

So, here are the questions: 1. One of MATC’s universal goals is to encourage the use of technology. I tried to do that by using Blackboard, Audioboo, Google Slides, and other technology. With those technologies in mind, tell me one thing you learned this summer about using technology.

  1. The second area is research and documentation. Reflecting on your Contemporary Trends Project and your reading responses, what is one rule that you didn’t know when you started but now you have learned about documentation or research or using citations?

  2. The third area is writing. Go back and look at the feedback on your reading responses. What is one, specific grammar or punctuation or style rule that you didn’t know before, but now you own?

  3. The fourth area is African American literature, since that IS why you signed up for the class in the first place. We read a lot of literature and you even read a novel. Tell me one, specific thing you now know about Black literature.

  4. And I saved the best for last. The last area regards your work habits as a student. Some students discover that they have negative work habits such as procrastinating or not proofreading or not following directions. Some students discover wonderful work habits, such as that they are good writers or they read quickly or that they really CAN take on nine credits in the summer. Reflecting honestly on your performance in class this summer, what did you discover about yourself?

Be specific.
