Chancellor George Osborne visited the Theatre Royal in Brighton earlier this week to unveil a new scheme to help theatre production companies. The new proposals will allow touring productions to receive up to 25 percent off their core spending on the live performances from next Monday. Its aim is to boost the number of local productions in theatres, which have been in decline over the past several years. Theatre productions in London's West End have been booming compared to a decline in local shows over the past few years.
