WINTER PROTEST

Sep 03, 2014, 01:23 PM

We wanted with breathes held tightly. Anticipated the snows that never came, listening to the gathering cold as it climbed into our limbs, the growling groans building in the tree branches, and their curled knuckle roots clinging to the earth against the northern wind, all of creation murmuring their protest to an icy winter that would deny us all even the smallest of comforts to be found in robes of snow. The silent reverence of a world christened white, adding to our cold ache a sense of awe. An angelic sadness to make our suffering seem somehow divine.
