RSA Weekly Stats 12th October 2014

My name is Michael and I’m reading the weekly numbers. This Sunday is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

And today’s number is 23,592. The number of people who’ve died on Irish roads since records began.

Two of were very close to me. My daughter Fiona and her boyfriend Dominic. They were on their way home to collect their luggage to travel to the airport. They were going to Australia that day. But they never arrived. They were killed suddenly. And our families, and friends will never ever forget them, Fi and Dom.

Let their memories and the memories of others help prevent needless deaths. These numbers are real people. Don’t be one of them.
