Sound Of Guinness in a public house before Munster play Clermont Auvergne

Season 1, Episode 2856,   Dec 06, 2014, 10:22 PM

Recorded on Saturday 6 December 2014 in Bar BK2 Glanmire, Co Cork, Ireland http://www.goldenpages.ie/bar-bk2-cork/1/ Shortly before watching the rugby match on Sky from Thomond Park Limerick. Monologue with ambient sound of people gathering & chatting, anticipating the match. I was waiting for Eoghan O'Leary and his son Fionn to arrive. While looking at my pint of Guinness as it "settled" I remembered: (1) my good friends A J Leon, Melissa Leon & Jessie M White ("misfits" you can find via Misfits_Inc) - whom I first met in the White House pub in Limerick. http://misfit-inc.com/ (2) Also Bill Whelan, Bill Higgins, Gerry Lynch, Conor Gunn, Jed Spencer & Peter Ahern with with whom I spend many a session drinking Guinness & music in "The Pembroke Pub" in Dublin from 1968-71. Now known as http://www.mattthethresher.ie/ (3) The Guinness Hop Store in Dublin & my sister Deirdre http://www.deirdre-omahony.ie/artworks/2000s/list/67-turf.html (4) my brothers Frank & David & time spent in Myles Breens pub in Limerick. https://www.facebook.com/MylesBreens I refer to Guinness as a "doorway into memory" as it conjures up other smells: freshly cut grass, freshly baked bread & a warm fire. I contrast a pint of Guinness with a pint of Bitter & remember Thomond Park Limerick too. I say something about the temperature of pipes & speculate about what game people in BK2 might play. #drink #guinness #rugby #memories
