Such A Heartbreaking Call: The Man Too Poor To Eat

When James O'Brien was speaking about foodbanks, Mike called LBC to say that he was living on just a tin of spaghetti a day since being made redundant.

To the person who asked what happens when the charity runs out. Having been in a similar situation with a young family. That simple act of kindness from total strangers can be enough to get you through. I dread to think where I would be. One thing I do know is that day I had totally given up all hope. Now I'm working, we're happy and managing, and in part it is thanks to the kindness of those strangers... We're not rich but I feel it is my time to pay it forward. If you can, please let me know how to contact Mike.

I feel sorry for this guy I am a single woman and I have a job and find it hard at times. So god knows how this guy feels I hope i will never feel how he feels. I think our government and ourselves need to start realising charity begins at home and stop sending money abroad and look after our own people. I am definitely going to find the nearest food bank and take some food. I have done it before through asda but sometimes it takes something like this to remind us how lucky we are. So please if you can all lend a helping hand. Happy Christmas xx

From there sounds of it the real struggle comes from single men on JSA, please help us all to help this guy. People are willing to help but they'd rather do it direct. Never look down on someone unless your helpin them up

I would love to help this guy, not with a handout because he rightly does not want it. Maybe someone to help him with a new CV or some clothes for an interview, some books or a spare TV for entertainment, or whatever. Please get in touch I'd be happy to help if I can.
