Anti Islamist PEGIDA movement spreads to Denmark.

The weekly march in the German city of Dresden by PEGIDA, the organisation purporting to oppose radical Islam has been cancelled, because of what is described as a concrete threat against its leadership. But PEGIDA is now starting up in Denmark, and organisers are hoping that several hundred will turn up for an evening constitutional to the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Police will be on hand to try to prevent clashes with anti racists who will be holding a counter demonstration. PEGIDA’s emergence in Denmark comes as the country is having an intense debate over free expression and how to protect itself from extremists.
