He costarred in Good Will Hunting. And you might have seen him in Armageddon and other movies. But before Ben Affleck was a star, he was out of work and broke. One day he went to an audition for Beverly Hills 90210—and blew it. The casting director called his agent and yelled “He’ll never be on Beverly Hills 90210!” Today Affleck is glad he didn’t get the part. Sometimes it’s best not to get what you want because something better is waiting.

Today I’ll be grateful for a time when I didn’t get what I wanted.
