@BBCRadio4 Continuity play for time late in the evening

Unusually awake for one in the morning I turned on the Shipping Forecast to remind my brain how late it was - and was somewhat surprised to find the continuity announcer Charles Carroll drawing to a close with whole minutes stretching out to the National Anthem. Normally they're so tight on timing, what could have gone wrong, I wondered.
