Turkey rallies over murder of woman who 'resisted rape'

Turkish President Erdogan and Prime Minister Davutoglu offered their condolences to the family of a young woman who was murdered while reportedly resisting an attempt by a bus driver to rape her. On a phone conversation with the family, Mr Davutoglu promised the accomplices would be held to account. Police discovered the burnt body of #OzgecanAslan on Friday in a riverbed in southern Turkey. They've arrested three men in connection with her death -- the driver of a minibus, his father and a friend. Local media report that Ms Aslan beat off the driver's attack with pepper spray, but was then stabbed to death. Women activists staged protests across Turkey throughout the day. My report from Istanbul.
