Tiny Tim Concert, 93/KHJ After Show Party, 1968

After KHJ became Boss Radio in 1965, the station was rarely scooped by a competitor. KRLA made a deal with Tiny Tim's management to present the red hot artist at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. I arranged with the cashier's office to receive $15,000 in cash and drove to the box office. "Got any tickets left for Tiny Tim?" I asked the lady in the box office. "Oh, there are plenty available, how many would you like?" she asked. "ALL of them," I told her and used most of the money for all of them, the show was sold out! Drove back to KHJ and began an hourly contest to, "Win tickets to see Tiny Tim in concert!" So KRLA was forced to play his smash hit while, plugging "our" concert. When it ended, we had a VIP party on stage. That's where and when this took place. (The live harpist can be heard, on cue.)
