Polls are due to close at 1900 BST in Denmark’s general election. Opinion polls suggest the outcome is too close to call. When the election was called three weeks ago, by the Social Democrat Prime Minister, Helle Thorning Schmidt, the centre right group had a clear lead. But Mrs Thorning Schmidt has made up the lost ground. And now, as Malcolm Brabant reports from Copenhagen, the future make up of the next government will depend very much on the number of seats secured by the smaller parties.
