Here's London's Godfather of acoustic punk Dave Russell and myself mashed up into this intriguing humorous collage of sound and words "Mad Version" The recording uses words and sound clips from Dave's Lawrence of Arabia poem "You Have Blue Eyes" and an outtake from me Jim Clark interacting during a recording session in which I utter "Mad Version" Dont ask me why I said it ha ha. with Dave during a recording session Poet Bluesman Songwriter Folk singer and author of science fiction and romantic novels performing one of his mind blowing psychological social commentary poems with the help of remixing and amazing electro musical collage by the Cornish Maestro of electronica William Beatty aka Wilpawa. Dave Russell a retired English Teacher was born in Wolverhampton in the English midlands in 1947 the son of an itinerant factory inspector. Dave grew up in Middlesborough in the North East of England where his slight accent originates. He has lived in London since the early 1960's and has performed his poetry and songs starting as he says with country blues very much in vogue during the rediscovery of this musical genre during his formative years all over London. Now in his 70's Dave still gets out there and performs regularly to live audiences. He lives for the excitement of witnessing a live audiences reaction to his unique never to be copied performances of his own original material and covers. In recent years he has become known as a talented writer of romantic erotica. The original recordings of Dave Russell were made by me Jim Clark and remixed by my highly talented musical genius friend William Beatty.
