Tour of Dundern Castle, Part 1

Aug 13, 2015, 08:55 PM

I had the privilege today of going on a tour of one of the most famous historical landmarks in my city. I've lived here for eighteen years and had never seen the place until today, so that's one more thing off my bucket list. The community coordinator at my building led a group of tenants, including myself, to the home of former Ontario premier Sir Allan MacNab, where we were taken on a guided expedition by a most capable assistant. The home is not actually a castle, but it's incredibly large and lavish, hence the moniker. The property spans twenty-eight acres and the house consists of multitudinous rooms in several floors, including servants quarters and a huge kitchen in the basement. Here is some of that tour. Apologies for the problems with fading audio at the beginning; it was a very windy day, and the wind caused my mics to cut in and out. #Canada #DundernCastle #history #MacNab #tours
