FARMGATE: How robotic milking & zero grazing has improved a Portadown dairy farm

With the ongoing dairy crisis and milk at it's lowest price for years, farm efficiency has never been more important. Robotic milking combined with zero grazing has helped one dairy farm in Portadown produce an extra 3 thousand litres per cow in the past year. I went along to the Lely open day at Gareth and Lynne McAdam's farm to see how the changes have been happening and spoke to Lely centre manager Jim Irwin (pictured)
