Deloitte London partner: we may need to buy property to house staff

Angus Knowles-Cutler, Senior Partner for Deloitte in London, explains how the housing crisis has changed what his firm offers new staff.

Deloitte recently started supporting its young graduate recruits by reserving flats to rent to more than 40 of its graduates at the former Olympic Village in Stratford, east London.

Mr Knowles-Cutler was speaking at the launch of the business-backed housing campaign, Fifty Thousand Homes, which is calling for the number of houses built in London each year to be doubled.

The campaign was started because the business community is becoming increasingly concerned that high housing costs mean a growing number of talented people across all levels of income are being forced away, or put off coming to the capital in the first place.
