Roger Federer loses to John Isner in Paris ATP Masters 1000 third round 7-6, 6-3, 7-6.

Match in a minute from the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris where Roger Federer was beaten 7-6, 6-3, 7-6 by John Isner in this third round match despite the American not managing a single break of serve.

Swiss no 1 Federer found himself in deep trouble after losing a low-key first set where serve dominated, saving 2 break points to stop Isner going 4-2 up, but losing 7-3 in the tiebreak that eventually followed.

Isner then had three break points against Federer in the first game of the second set, but the 34 year-old recovered to hold, before claiming the first break of serve in the match after 74 minutes to lead 4-2.

Federer secured that set 6-3 but faced a reinvigorated Isner in a decider controlled by the serve, leading to another tiebreak, in which the American raced into a 6-2 lead.

The 30 year-old lost his first three match points but converted the fourth, and can now look forward to a quarter-final against David Ferrer, who beat Bulgarian Gregor Dimitrov 6-7, 6-1, 6-4 in his third round match.
