How To Win: Patrick Monahan. Wheelchair Racer

Jan 22, 2016, 04:35 PM

Patrick Monahan is a wheelchair racer, covering a vast range of distances from 400m to marathons. After a road accident in 2007, Patrick, left with three fractured thoracic vertebrae, was told he'd never walk again, but inspired by the paralympians of London 2012, Patrick found a new passion - wheelchair racing. His debut race was in a marathon in Dublin in 2013 and he hasn't looked back since.

We talked to Patrick Monahan at one of his training grounds, Morton Stadium, where he reveals his goal, with the help of British Paralympics coach Ian Mirfin, to qualify for Rio 2016
