Ian Collins and Will Guyatt Come to Blows Over Iphone Security and FBI

Feb 18, 2016, 12:44 AM

Ian Collins and LBC's Technology Correspondent are on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to civil liberties and national security.

It comes after a US federal magistrate has ordered Apple to help the F.B.I unlock the iPhone of one of the San Bernardino shooters.

The Court says Apple must supply software to break encryption on Syed Farook’s phone so it can be accessed without wiping his data

Investigators are trying to determine to what extent the shooters were influenced by radical Islamic terrorist groups and who they had been in touch with before the rampage.

Will Guyatt believes the consequences of Apple complying with the court, are hugely detrimental, however Ian believes fighting terrorism is the most pressing issue considering the current climate.

Ian gets so frustrated, he cuts Will off.

LIsten to the clash here.
