In Dublin on the 5th anniversary of the brutal suppression of a peaceful uprising by Bashar al-Assad that led to five years of war in Syria, Anne Daly met Irish and Syrians who came together to draw attention to the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. They gathered outside the GPO – the General Post Office – the site of Ireland revolution one hundred years ago, and it was clear many Syrians saw the uprising against Assad as a revolt against one of the most brutal regime in the Middle East.

Anne first spoke Syrian Orthopedic Surgeon Dr Kamal Shadi who has been living in Ireland for 20 years.
