Dog owners of Staffordshire and Cheshire, listen up - you could be landed with a five hundred pound fine if you don't follow new rules coming in this week.

From tomorrow it'll be compulsory in England, Scotland and Wales for all dogs to be microchipped -- registered with the owner's details stored on a national database.

With an estimated 9 million pet pooches in the UK, getting them all covered has been a major project.
