Message body 20/4/16 INT’L MOTHER EARTH DAY INTRO Government at all levels as well as private individuals and organisations have been urged to vigorously pursue tree-planting initiatives, to check the environmental problems, including Climate Change.

Concerned environmental experts made the call in separate interviews with Radio Nigeria to herald this year’s International Mother Earth Day.

Correspondent Innocent Onoh reports that the April 22 annual event, coordinated this year by the Earth Day Network was celebrated first in 1970 and is intended to draw global attention to the protection of the environment.
