It's no secret that Stoke-on-Trent is home to some of the planet's best darts players.

However, one team from near Lichfield are showing that it's not just at international level that this part of the world shines.

George Beckett has captained Beacon to a fourth straight Premier League title in the Trent Valley Darts League, a local competition.

Their unbeaten streak is now over 40 games and two seasons long.

That’s the kind of stats that only the likes of Phil Taylor or Michael Van Gerwen can match, though Beckett admits there have been plenty of nervous moments along the way.

Beacon have drawn multiple matches, and came from 2-0 behind in one to win 4-2 through claiming victory in all four singles games.

This is because the format is four players per side, and Beckett only himself and three other strong players regularly available, with a former captain of the Yorkshire darts team rather handy as emergency backup!

However, captain Beckett believes his job is actually relatively easy.
