Statement by Dr Riek Machar on Eliminating Sexual violence by Security forces

First vice president, Riek Machar, met Zainab Bangura, UN Special envoy on sexual violence in conflict, on Sunday and pledged a commitment by the new government to combat sexual violence and all other forms of abuses committed by the security sector.

The pledge by Dr Riek Machar, came after UN Special envoy on sexual violence in conflict said mechanisms should be put in place to ensure cases of rape, kidnap and other forms of abuse do not occur.

This is a statement the Vice President made after meeting with the UN Special envoy on sexual violence in conflict.
