Richard Spurr slams badly-behaved England fans at Euro 2016

LBC's Richard Spurr has questioned why Brits often behave so badly and so aggressively abroad, after England football fans were involved in street battles with French police and local residents from Marseille for a second night running.

The clashes came ahead of Roy Hodgson's side's opening Group B game against Russia at Marseille's Stade Vélodrome on Saturday evening.

After weeks of warnings from both French and British police about the security risk posed to Euro 2016 by Islamic State following the Paris and Brussels attacks, Richard summarised what the clear that the message to fans was and how they've responded to it: "don't inflame things. So what do British fans do? They riot in the street [and] they throw bottles."

He added that whenever British men head overseas - particularly for sports events - "there just seems to be this outpouring of aggression which I cannot fathom."
