Outlook on the World Service

Outlook has been running on the BBC World Service since 4 July 1966. Initially the format was to be "a news, current affairs and magazine programme, with reports and features from around the world and star guest to chat live in the studio". But over time it has evolved into a programme that seeks out the human interest stories behind the news headlines, or, as the programme often says: "going around the globe through incredible personal stories".

In this montage you'll hear the programme's longest-serving former presenter John Tidmarsh (including an interview from 1999 with Frederick Dove), Colin Hamilton, Barbara Myers, Frederick Dove, Heather Payton, John Waite, Caroline Wyatt, Lucy Ash and Matthew Bannister.
