Is a referendum the way to decide the gay marriage issue in Northern Ireland? We're asking that question today after a new opinion poll - and the experience of the Brexit vote. Have your views on directly asking voters been changed by the EU referendum campaign? The new opinion poll by Ipsos Mori indicates strong support for allowing same sex marriage here. It found 70% backing - similar to the 68% a year ago. It's just over a year since the Republic voted in favour of gay marriage in its referendum.
