UNMISS Force Commander appeals for cooperation to protect civillians in South Sudan

The UN Mission says insecurity in parts of the country is hampering the implementation of its mandate. Violence in parts of Greater Equatoria has made it difficult for UNMISS to conduct patrols or to reach civilians in need of protection.

UNMISS Force Commander Lt. General Johnson ONDIEKI says they are finding problems with accessing areas declared unsafe by the government.

The force commander spoke to Radio Miraya in this exclusive interview
