“I can live for two months on a good compliment.” Mark Twain

Compliments should feel good. If they make you feel uncomfortable—if you change the subject, blush, or ignore compliments—then you need practice accepting praise. The next time someone gives you a compliment, try this: Open your mouth and say thanks. Not “thanks, but . . .” or “it’s nothing . . .” or “I didn’t do anything . . . .” Just thanks. It will be over before you know it. It’s easier than you think.

TODAY I’ll accept a compliment.
