Cristo on why Juncker is right to say Britain can't have its European cake and eat it

Cristo Foufas says the European Commission's president, Jean-Claude Juncker, is right to say that the EU will not let Britain have access to Europe's single market without us accepting freedom of movement for EU citizens too.

Cristo says he nearly voted for Brexit based on the pressure that freedom of movement puts on our public services. However, he says he chose to vote to remain because it was clear that the EU was never going to offer the UK "a bespoke deal" that lets us stay in the single market without freedom of movement.

As Cristo says, if the UK were offered such a deal, France and other EU states would soon be clamouring to follow the UK out of the union.
