#WorldFoodDay, observed each year on October 16, provides an opportunity for the international community to unite in an effort to help raise awareness about the global problem of hunger.

Three-quarters of south Sudan's population are finding it hard to get enough to eat according to the data released in July 2016. The data indicated a worsening situation triggered mainly by conflict.

Today, WFP country director, Joyce Luma, said the organization is heightening its solidarity in the struggle to ensure that no one in #SouthSudan goes to sleep hungry.

This is her message.
