Exclusive: Festus Mogae Presses for a Peace Offensive in South Sudan

Festus Mogae chairperson of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission - JMEC, says President Salva Kiir, the Vice President Taban Deng Gai and the other leaders should invite warring parties to stop fighting and give more impetus to the peace process.

Speaking exclusively to Miraya Breakfast Show, H.E Festus Mogae, acknowledged that modest and delicate gains have been scored, but implored the leadership in Juba, to offer a hand of friendship to the IO fighters, ask them to lay down their tools, grant them amnesty so they can return home and take part in peace making.
