A ‘Weapons Free Zone’ has been established to enhance protection around the UN Protection of Civilian Site in Juba.

The 200 meter perimeter area was created by UNMISS in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, to help curtail criminal activity in the PoC site and surrounding villages.

The Officer in Charge of the UNMISS Relief, Reintegration and Protection Section, Sam Muhumure, says this supplements the enhanced patrols and weapon searches conducted by UNMISS Peacekeepers.

In this interview with Gabriel Shaddar, Muhumure began by giving an update on the number of IDP's being sheltered by the UN Mission in South Sudan - UNMISS.
