Corruption destroys a nation

“Corruption destroys a nation,” Mr. Awadi Masha and Ms. Christine Jada, both commissioners of the Anti-corruption commission of #SouthSudan have said.

Describing #Corruption manifested through abuse of power, embezzlement of funds, and sexual harassment, the two commissioners acknowledged that the level of reporting incidents of corruption to the commission has dropped significantly, over the past two years.

According to the United Nations Development Programme - #UNDP, funds lost to corruption are estimated at 10 times the amount of official development assistance.

In an interview to mark International Anti-Corruption Day, recognized annually on 9 December, Miraya Breakfast show host Sebit William, asked commissioners Awadi Masha and Christine Jada how big of a problem corruption is in South Sudan.
