630m: Experimental Station WI2XLQ in Virginia on AM

It takes good ears to hear anything at all in the noise, but you may be able to detect music during the first portion of the transmission. Near the end I can make out the words "This is WI2XLQ..." (two or three words I cannot make out)"... on four hundred eighty six kilohertz". This was a commemorative transmission in honor of the 110th anniversary of Reginald Fessenden's first audio broadcast on the airwaves. Considering the mode is AM, the transmitter is an early 1920s design using UV-202 tubes which only puts out a few watts and the antenna is probably small and inefficient, it is a wonder I heard the signal at all...
