Western Union Supports Youth Refugees in Kiryandongo

The #WesternUnion Foundation has pledged a three-year grant totaling more than $1 million US dollars to support The Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative - WPDI’s at a refugee camp in Kiryandongo, Uganda. The money is intended to help provide access to education for 10,000 refugees in Uganda.

Kiryandongo Refugee camp is host to approximately 70,000 refugees from Kenya, Congo, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan—85% of whom are under 18.

So why did the Western Union popularly known for it's money transfer business pick interest In a peace building initiative particularly in #kiryandongo?
