An online petition has been set up calling for bosses in #Canterbury to scrap plans for a revamp of the high street and spend the money on a #homeless #shelter instead. The city council are looking at spending £640,000 on new lighting, wifi access and an events space in St George's Street. But, after figures revealed 50 people were sleeping rough in the city at the end of last year there are calls for a rethink.
